Our mission is to bring the nursing profession together in one place, so nurses and the organizations that support them can connect more easily, share relevant information, and create better pathways for career growth, education, and workforce support.
After the sale of Jobs.com to Monster.com, Tim Armes took over a nursing job board named NursesLounge.com. He then launched a direct mail magazine sent to 35,000 registered nurses in the Dallas-Fort Worth market. Supported by nurse recruitment advertising from local hospitals, the publication quickly expanded into Houston and Chicago.
As online platforms matured, Nurses Lounge evolved beyond a job board model. The website was relaunched as a professional network for nurses, bringing together nurses and major stakeholder organizations, including schools, associations, and hospitals, on one platform. Print operations ended in 2011 as the digital network became the focus.
After years of operating through third-party platforms, the network was rebuilt as a fully proprietary platform. Development began shortly after the pandemic, and the rebuilt network relaunched in March 2022. Within the first year, more than 180 BSN nursing schools joined the platform, with more continuing to participate.
Nurses Lounge expanded its platform with the launch of Nurse FLEX Pool, an on-demand staffing model built around a flat monthly subscription. The goal is to give healthcare facilities a more sustainable alternative to high-cost staffing models while giving nurses more flexible work opportunities.
