Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)
As a graduate of the Troy University Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program, you will have the skills necessary to function as a registered nurse in a variety of healthcare settings. You will possess the knowledge of specific aspects of the biological sciences, the humanities and nursing science required for nursing practice in both acute and long-term care settings. Both the professional core and the supporting liberal arts coursework in the ASN program contain courses designed to foster personal and professional responsibility, leadership, appreciation of the sciences, humanities and the environment, as well as an appreciation for the necessity of life-long learning.
The ASN program is led by exceptionally educated and experienced faculty. Faculty members have many years of clinical experience and consistently work in the clinical area so that they can best prepare their students for clinical practice.
Passage rates of Troy University ASN students on the NCLEX-RN, the Alabama Board of Nursing’s standard for all schools, consistently rank above 80 percent. The 5-semester program adequately prepares students to enter the nursing workforce immediately upon graduation.
