Rehabilitation Nurses help patients with long-term physical disabilities or chronic illness, deal with their limitations and reach their full potential. These nurses work with patients and their family members, to create a recovery plan and set short and long-term goals — ultimately helping the patient achieve as independent a lifestyle as possible. As a Rehabilitation Nurse, you have the opportunity to form lasting relationships with your patients.

The Association of Rehabilitation Nurses (ARN) recognizes that rehabilitation nurses go above and beyond in caring for their patients every day. Our membership includes more than 5,600 professional nurses who form a community singularly devoted to advancing and promoting rehabilitation nursing in a variety of practice settings, including nursing schools, acute care hospitals, inpatient rehabilitation units/hospitals, long term care hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and home health agencies. The wealth of knowledge and information our community of nurses share is extensive.
