Together with doctors, pharmacists, social workers, nurse practitioners, and clinical nurse specialists, Clinical Nurse Leaders help incorporate the latest technologies and innovations into treatment to give patients the best care possible.

As a Clinical Nurse Leader, you’ll be known as an advanced generalist—having advanced knowledge and education in general medicine as opposed to one primary discipline, like Clinical Nurse Specialists.

About the Commission on Nurse Certification

The Commission on Nurse Certification (CNC) is an autonomous certifying arm of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN). The mission of the CNC is to oversee the Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) certification activities in order to assure communities of interest that certificants have met accepted standards of practice. Over 5,500 professionals have earned the CNL credential. The CNL is a master’s educated nurse, prepared for practice across the continuum of care within any healthcare setting in today’s changing environment. The CNC Board of Commissioners (CNCBOC) governs the CNL Certification Program. The CNCBOC and staff are solely responsible for the policies and administration of the CNL Certification Program.

CNC's Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) Certification Program has been accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) since 2014 https://www.youracclaim.com/badges/5c45d458-55bf-4010-8c7f-17e5744f97c2/public_url.
