Nursing Degree Programs

  • + Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Degree Program

    Location: Campus Only

    Degree Overview:

    The BSN Degree Program offers four degree options to accommodate either the beginning nursing student with the traditional BSN degree, the returning registered nurse (RN) who wishes to complete a BSN, the 2nd degree accelerated Roadrunner BSN option as well as the 2nd degree seeking Pathways BSN option for those who already have a bachelor’s degree in another field. These two options are designed for students with an undergraduate degree in another field who wish to pursue a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing. Students from diverse academic backgrounds who seek a rigorous education in professional nursing will complete approximately 67 undergraduate credits. Successful graduates of the BSN program option would be eligible to take the National Council of State Boards of Nursing Exam (NCLEX) for licensure as a registered nurse (RN). All prerequisite and requisite course work taken at other institutions will be evaluated for admission to the 2nd Degree alternate route BSN program option.

    The RN-BS Program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education through the year 2022. It is designed for registered nurses (R.N.s) from diverse educational and multicultural backgrounds who want to earn a baccalaureate degree in an environment that will promote personal satisfaction and lifelong learning through challenging experiences.

    The MSN curriculum provides students with the knowledge and experience to assume leadership positions in overall health care delivery and fulfill the fundamental requirements to secure middle and top-level administrative positions in health care agencies.

    Degree Overview:

    New Mexico State University School of Nursing online PhD program prepares graduates to pursue careers as leaders in nursing research, education, practice, and/or health policy. It develops nursing knowledge with a focused emphasis on meeting the health care needs of diverse populations on the US-Mexico border and in rural communities.

    The program enables graduates to reach their potential as nurses facing the global challenges and opportunities of the 21st century. It challenges their intellectual curiosity, focuses their passion for nursing science, and builds lifelong collegial relationships in an international community of students, faculty, alumni, and scholars.
