Good afternoon fellow SC Nursing Network lounge members,

If you recommend mobile health apps to your patients, I am interested in your opinion! My name is Sara Donevant, and I am a PhD candidate at the University of South Carolina College of Nursing. I am working on my dissertation to develop an evaluation tool to assist healthcare providers select mobile health applications (mHealth apps) for patients to manage and monitor chronic health conditions.

Currently, more than 165,000 mobile health apps are available for download with fewer than 10% including accurate medical information and elements that promote positive behavior health changes. The process of finding well-designed small group mHealth apps can be tedious and time consuming. I hope to improve the search process by developing an evaluation tool to assist health care providers identify the best mHealth apps for managing chronic health conditions. I need your assistance by giving feedback on your experience with mHealth apps. Your perspective is essential since you are recommending mHealth apps to  your patients. Your feedback will provide the elements for the new mHealth evaluation tool.
