This Lounge provides a place for nursing news and info from around the state.

The New Jersey Collaborating Center for Nursing was established by state legislation on December 12, 2002 (P.L.2002, c.116) The Center works on behalf of nurses to provide evidence-based recommendations regarding the nursing workforce and its impact on patient care. The Center is housed in Rutgers University, School of Nursing, Newark Campus, and is guided by a 17-member board representing New Jersey nursing and healthcare stakeholders.

  • Identifying strategies for collecting other segments of nursing workforce to include new emerging roles and demand data
  • Serving as a clearing house for nursing resources in and outside of the state
  • Becoming the “go to” place for nursing information and innovation
  • Seek funding to support research or model programs
  • Building key relationships

    A 150 bed hospital in Texas has reached out to the NJHA looking for volunteer nurses for one to two weeks to fly down (private jet leaving Newark Thursday morning) and be able to give their staff some relief. They'll be happy if they can stay the week, ecstatic if they can stay two weeks. All expenses paid, but no salary (volunteer). They will cover cost of flying back her...

Nursing cannot & does not take credit for this acuity but only thing written I can find is what nursing needs to document to take credit for this acuity.. Anyone have any resources?
