NURSES LOUNGE PROFESSIONAL NETWORK HIRES REGIONAL PUBLISHER AND EXPANDS INTO THE UPPER MIDWESTERN UNITED STATES

Dallas, TX – April 19, 2011 – Nurses Lounge, an online professional network for nurses, announced that Troy Anderson has been retained as the Upper Midwestern Regional Publisher, which covers Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa.

As a regional publisher for Nurses Lounge (www.nurseslounge.com), Mr. Anderson will work with the region’s nursing schools, state and local nurse associations, hospitals and other organizations to develop their utilization of the Nurses Lounge online network. Interactive groups (lounges), which Nurses Lounge creates for each individual organization, are used by the colleges, hospitals and others to disseminate news and information directly to their respective members and the approximately 150,000 registered nurses in the region.

“We are very enthusiastic to have someone of Troy’s publishing and writing experience join our team,” says Tim Armes, CEO and Founder of the Nurses Lounge, “especially in a market as large and fast growing as the upper Midwest.”

“The Upper Midwestern Region is one of the largest nursing markets in the United States, so I’m excited to be a part of introducing and developing the Nurses Lounge in this area.” says Anderson. “We provide nurses, hospitals and universities with the online platform to seamlessly communicate on a professional level as well as allow organizations to control their own content.”
Mr. Anderson is also the publisher of the Minnesota, edition of MD News, a B2B content publishing magazine for physicians. He has more than 15 years experience in magazine publishing, and marketing.

With Anderson in place as regional publisher, development of the Nurses Lounge network with universities, hospitals and nurses is expected to be rapid with a large increase of activity and influx of area nursing professionals to its membership.

Mr. Anderson will be based out of the Twin Cities in Minnesota. Anderson is among the first group of independent publishers to be hired by Nurses Lounge and will be helping Nurses Lounge expand throughout the United States from its origins in the Texas market where Nurses Lounge was launched 2 years ago.

History of Nurses Lounge

Nurses Lounge (www.nurseslounge.com), a wholly owned subsidiary of MedCareers Group, Inc., grew out of a nine-year-old nursing publication and web portal. Headquartered in Dallas, Texas, Nurses Lounge began operations in Atlanta, Georgia, as a Nurse web portal in the 1990's. Timothy Armes, founder of Jobs.com, acquired the portal site in 2002 and moved the operation to Dallas where Armes also launched a successful direct mail companion magazine reporting on the local nursing profession. The website has been enhanced to become a more social-oriented network for nurses. It was re-launched in mid-2009 as a professional network for nurses and designed as a more efficient way for nurse organizations to communicate not only to their members but to the nursing profession at large.
