NURSES LOUNGE PROFESSIONAL NETWORK HIRES REGIONAL PUBLISHER FOR TEXAS

Dallas, TX – February 9, 2012 – Nurses Lounge, an online professional network for nurses, announced that Lucia Bates has been retained as a Regional Publisher for its Southeast, Central and Western Texas markets.

As a regional publisher for Nurses Lounge (www.nurseslounge.com) Bates will work with Texas nursing schools, state and local nurse associations, hospitals and other organizations to develop their utilization of the Nurses Lounge online professional network. Interactive groups (lounges) which Nurses Lounge creates for each individual organization are used by the schools, hospitals and others to disseminate news and information directly to their respective members and the approximately 175,000 registered nurses in the region.

“We are very enthusiastic to have someone with Lucia’s marketing and sales experience join our team,” says Tim Armes, CEO and Founder of the Nurses Lounge, “especially in a market as large and important as Texas.”

“Texas is the one of the largest nursing market in the United States, so I’m especially thrilled to be in on the development of Nurses Lounge.” says Bates. “We provide nurses, hospitals and universities with the online platform to seamlessly communicate on a professional level directly to the nursing profession.”

With Bates in place as regional publisher, development of the Nurses Lounge network with universities, hospitals and nurses is expected to be rapid with a large increase of activity and influx of Texas nursing professionals to its membership.

Bates will be based out of Houston, Texas and is one of the first group of independent representatives to be hired by Nurses Lounge and will be helping Nurses Lounge expand throughout the United States from its origins in the Dallas market where Nurses Lounge was launched 2 1/2 years ago. Her contact email is Lbates@nurseslounge.com

History of Nurses Lounge

Nurses Lounge (www.nurseslounge.com), a wholly owned subsidiary of MedCareers Group, Inc., grew out of a nine-year-old nursing publication and web portal. Headquartered in Dallas, Texas, Nurses Lounge began operations in Atlanta, Georgia, as a Nurse web portal in the 1990's. Timothy Armes, founder of Jobs.com, acquired the portal site in 2002 and moved the operation to Dallas where Armes also launched a successful direct mail companion magazine reporting on the local nursing profession. The website has been enhanced to become a more social-oriented network for nurses. It was re-launched in mid-2009 as a professional network for nurses and designed as a more efficient way for nurse organizations to communicate not only to their members but to the nursing profession at large.
