Dallas, TX – January 13, 2014 – Nurses Lounge, Inc, an online professional network for nurses and a wholly-owned subsidiary of MedCAREERS Group, Inc. (“MCGI” or the “Company”) (OTCQB:MCGI), a development stage company, announced that it will donate $1,000 to each state student nurse association that joins the network and has 20 percent of its member schools adopt Nurses Lounge as the primary online communications platform. Those accepting the “no strings attached” scholarships join some of the largest state associations including Texas and New York that have turned to Nurses Lounge in order to update communications from a static website or Facebook page.
“The Nurses Lounge provides the optimal communication solution for student nurse associations (SNAs) as well as individual nursing schools looking to build and manage their alumni organizations or to distribute news to the broader nursing profession,” said Tim Armes, president and CEO of MedCAREERS GROUP, Inc. and founder of Nurses Lounge.
Networks such as LinkedIn and Facebook are about connecting individuals. Nurses Lounge, however, is designed first to organize the literally thousands of nursing organizations such as nursing schools, associations and employers on to one easy to use network. This allows users to take advantage of the latest communications technology in a professional online environment unique to the nursing profession
Nurses Lounge provides each organization a branded interactive lounge page. Information posted in the lounge, as an example, is emailed instantly to lounge members. This does away with associations having to maintain emails lists or having to go through administration just to remind members of an upcoming meeting. Additionally, videos and images as well as important attachments can be posted by the organization’s administrator with just a few clicks.
“An important benefit, which was a surprise to us as we demonstrated the network at the recent National Student Nurses Association conference, was the ability to easily change lounge administrators, typically SNA officers who change year-to-year at graduation. It takes just a few clicks,” Armes said.
“Student members register on our network by creating a professional profile. They can interact by posting comments or questions. As members, students can also join our student career center, signup for webinars and begin to develop a professional network with fellow students and alumni. This will benefit them professionally long after graduation,” Armes added.
”What brings value for us as a network is that each time a SNA joins, bringing their state chapters onboard, we have the potential for thousands of new members to come into our network today and in the future. This not only brings greater value to all members but does so at a nominal fixed cost to us,” Armes said.
MedCAREERS Group, Inc.'s focus is to develop and build value through its wholly-owned subsidiary Nurses Lounge, Inc., an online professional network and communication resource for nurses and stakeholder organizations such as nursing schools, associations and employers. By consolidating the profession onto one simple to use network, Nurses Lounge provides tools and resources that allows organizations a more effective way to communicate to the broader nursing profession. In turn, Nurses Lounge expects to develop a highly profitable diversified revenue model including education, employment, targeted advertising and more.
